PA QSO Party 2026: Preliminary Club Results

Ten Penn Wireless entries, 1,228 contacts, and a combined claimed score of more than 122,000 points — more than double the club's official total from last year. Twelve members took part in the 70th PA QSO Party, October 10–11.

Under the 2026 rules a phone QSO is 1 point, CW is 2, QRP doubles QSO points, and the score is points × multipliers plus 200 for working the bonus station, K3ZMC. Power level doesn’t change the score, only the entry division.

Top score

N3FEL posted the club's highest score (36,636), most QSOs (257), and most multipliers (85).

Mixed-mode volume

N3DD made 204 QSOs — 69 on CW and 135 on phone. 40 m SSB was the busiest slot in the club at 105 QSOs.

QRP CW

N2US made 85 CW QSOs at 5 watts or less across three bands and worked the bonus station.

CW on four bands

KE3LA made 99 CW QSOs and is the only entry that reported 15 meters. AA3RT added 102 CW QSOs, 64 of them on 40 m.

Multi-op

KC3INP and KA4FLA logged 200 phone QSOs with KC3KEO on the log.

Multiplier hunting

K3PJH worked 76 multipliers in 143 QSOs, second only to N3FEL.

Bonus station

N2US, KE3LA, AA3RT, K0CJH, and KC3INP / KA4FLA all worked K3ZMC for the 200-point bonus.

Bands and modes

Every entry that reported bands worked 40 m; six worked 80 m and six worked 20 m. Five entries were phone only, three CW only, two mixed.

Compared with last year

In 2025 Penn Wireless finished 9th of 13 Pennsylvania clubs in the 3-to-25-entry bracket, on 7 logs and 53,915 points. This year’s ten logs and 122,799+ claimed points are more than double that — roughly 58,000 short of last year’s 8th place and 83,000 ahead of 10th. Last year’s scores are after log checking and this year’s are claimed, and every other club’s 2026 total will differ too, so treat this as a benchmark, not a prediction.

Frankford Radio Club won the separate 26-or-more-entries bracket in 2025 with 54 logs and 3,527,311 points.

Next year: October 9–10, 2027

The PA QSO Party is the one weekend a year when everyone wants to talk to Pennsylvania — and we are Pennsylvania. CW counts double, the exchange is a serial number plus your county (Bucks is BUX), and a ten-contact log from an attic dipole genuinely moves the club score. It’s on the 2027 lineup with everything else the club has planned.
